Where do I put meta tags

Hello everybody

I’m using Business Style 1.1 theme for my blog https://www.blogyourwaytothebank.com. I’ve tried (using notepad) to insert meta tags for description, keywords etc. in header.php. Having saved the file and then viewed again, they seem to be there ok. However, meta tag analysers don’t find them and the don’t appear if I “view source” whe the site is loaded. What am I doing wrong?
