Where do I upload languages files?

    Where do I upload the .po and .mo language files to the server?
    I loaded the files under wp-content/languages/plugins/gd-bbpress-attachments.po, but without any effect.
    The texts are not translated on the website. Is there another place I need to upload the files?

    PO file is not used for translation on the website, it needs to be MO file (compiled file, PO is the source). Also, if you switch the language, and run the WordPress update it will download appropriate files from www.ads-software.com translations. If you have your own translation, it has to be MO compiled file.

    I have the .mo-File aswell. It ist still not working.
    Is the path of the file on server right?
    /wp-content/languages/plugins/gd-bbpress-attachments.mo

    The location is correct, but file name is not. File name has to include the exact language code according to WP specs. If the language is German, file name would need to be: gd-bbpress-attachments-de_DE.mo. Without the language code, WP doesn’t know if it needs to load the file, and that code has to match code in WP settings for file to be loaded.
