  • The uploaded photo will be available at ‘wp-content/uploads/files/’ directory. sub folders will be created based on the user id and stored under the files directory. Very soon, I shall add the photo download facility to the plugin. Let me know if you need any further assistance as of now

    Thanks Anwar,

I’ve checked the folder you’ve described and it is showing up empty. There’s no warning from the plugin to say that there’s a permissions problem at all, and the photos are appearing when the user logs out and logs back in again, so they are obviously somewhere!

Is there anything silly I might have miss?

    Thanks!

can you please be more specific?

    1. are you able to find the directory ‘files’ under the uploads folder?

    2. Is there any sub directory with the name ‘guest’ or the ‘USERID’ within the ‘files’ directory?

    Hi Anwar,

    Certainly….

    1. The directory ‘files’ exists.

    2. No, the files directory is empty.

    Thanks for your help!

Oh, and the permissions for the directory are 341, if that helps?

Sorry for the confusion… there is a folder named files with in the plugin directory. That is not the place where you need to look for the photos. You will find another folder named files under the wp-content/uploads folder. Please check there and let me know.

    Ok, no problem ??

The ‘files’ directory is in the plugin directory, but this just contains a folder called ‘thumbnails’. Both are empty otherwise.

Yes Kristy, that was my mistake… we don’t want the folder there. I will delete it in the next release. We are using the folder under ‘wp-content/uploads/files/’

    Kirsty,

I have released a new version of the plugin in which I have added the capability to view the uploaded files from the admin console. Please fo through the plugin description for more details

    Thanks

    Setting it as resolved

At my ‘files’ directory it is the same.
I’m also not sure why I can’t see the uploaded pictures and documents.

a screenshot of the URL in my browser:
    https://www.dropbox.com/s/ysqx30ryxo940o3/1.jpg
It shows actually the right picture. The proof that it is there.

Filezilla (ftp client) shows a empty directory!?
    https://www.dropbox.com/s/pto7d0xfleg6rnh/2.jpg
That’s the problem right now. How can I easily download all the uploaded files in one step?

You can also see that I have access to the files from the admin panel.
    https://www.dropbox.com/s/93mcamn3crnzea8/3.jpg
    Can you please help me?

Or: Could you add the photo download facility to the plugin?
So that the admin is able to download a *.rar/*.zip file with all the sub directories?

The problem or THE CHALLENGE is that I need the plugin for 186 wordpress users. ??

All of them are going to upload several files … I don’t want to download them from the admin panel by hand. ??

    Hi EliasG.
6 moths after your post I downloaded this plugin and had the same problem.
The solution is that the the directories under
    ‘wp-content/uploads/files/’
have strange permission that make them disappear to FTP client.
Just change the permission of ‘files’ (this one should be visible) and all subfolder to something like 741 (or 755) and all will be fine!
