Good luck, rocklv . . . wordpress is a volunteer enterprise, not a commercial one. Interestingly, though, the DOT COM part of this enterprise (the part that competes with blogger) does have nicer and completely undownloadable templates.
If wordpress becomes the premier blogging tool, I would imagine that template-designers will be in high demand — and will be used for people who don’t want someone else’s theme. For those of us who don’t speak HTML in our sleep, the only real alternative is to learn the code, borrow, or pay up.
Of course, for those “who speak the language,” I’m not sure why they even bother with wordpress . . . except maybe so they can come on help forums in order to make snarky remarks to those who don’t.
