• Akismet is blocking friends comments

I wanted to remove Akismet history and start from zero.
I tried to delete Akismet and starts a new installation but without success, on the dashboard it’s keeps telling me that’s Akismet blocked ### spasm.
    Akismet still remebers the history.

So where does it save it’s information? I searched the SQL but I couldn’t find any, anybody knows?

    Thanks in advance

  • i am amused on how akismet learns from spam instances on other blogs… if its a community spam stopping plugin, who updates the information from the central server?

Akismet and the precise details of how it works are held by Matt and whoever else is involved. When you use that plugin, you are ceding control – albeit a very small amount of control – to a third party over which your influence is extremely small.
Not maybe a bad thing in the war against spam and it is of course perfectly understandable that Matt does not divulge any information.
Since Akismet launched though there have been very very few posts about false positives – it does appear to do a very good job.

If you want full control back over your comments, and you accept that spam control may take one or two more clicks (literally) then try Spam Karma 2 – https://unknowngenius.com/blog/wordpress/spam-karma/ – which is an excellent alternative.

Akismet doing a very good job.
but how can I allow friends to comment without being reported as a spam from Akismet?

I am just asking, I am not trying to downgrade Akismet’s quality.

every time I check their comments as “not Spam” doesn’t help, keeps comeback with the same spam report.
    Thank you for the answer
