Hello, I’m running WP 2.0 (and very happy with it) but somehow over the last couple of weeks the rather good editor that WP 2.0 was using to write posts seems to have gone away and has been replaced with the editor which was there in earlier versions of WP. The only thinng I can think has happened was that I messed up a plugin, while I was doing things with Lazyest gallery, but I’m not sure that this is the issue. Any ideas anyone?

No, but I am having some theme problems with the original so I have uninstalled the second one for the time being to sort that out. Once I do that I will do what you are suggesting ??

OK I have tried that. Added all the plugins I have on my original blog to a fresh one and that broke it. I will now try and work out which one!

Solved: It appears that it was the combination of the following two plugins:
    Photopress 0.9.2
    Link Footnotes 1.1
If both are installed the visual editor is there generally but once it vanishes it doesn’t come back unless I deactivate both plugins and then reapply them. Either plugin on it’s one doesnt seem to affect the editor as far as I can tell.

Thank you to everyone who helped ??

Glad you are sorted out Matthaios. Unfortunately, this solution hasn’t worked for me. I’ve disabled all of my plugins and still can’t get the rich editor.

Well mine has failed again too. Dammit. Totally stumped now. It seems to have dissappeared after I made a post using the visual text editor.

OK, finally (fingers crossed!) solved, I had the wrong plugin as culprit, after some more playing with plugin combinations I think that on my blog it is the Link Footnotes. Shame, I liked that one.

Well, it’s working now with IE, but still not with Firefox. I’m not sure why that is because I haven’t changed anything. Any ideas how to get the rich editor back with firefox anyone?

You could try clearing the browser cache in Firefox (Options/Privacy, last tab) and then ctrl-F5 to refresh the page. It might help.

Well, I finally ended up removing firefox alltogether and reinstalling it and that seems to have fixed the problem.

    Thanks folks

For anyone else unable to solve this problem, here’s what I did. Having checked the visual editor was displaying in IE (eliminating any problems with the WP install), I went back to Firefox and cleared the cache. The visual editor reappeared.

For brevity, I’ve left out the details of the hour I spent going ‘WTF?’.
