• I just started my blog, hosted by 1and1.com, and I uploaded my theme (Makisig by Padd IT Solutions).

After I logged in, I went to General Settings and input my blog title, address, tagline, etc. I saved the changes.

When I hit the Visit Site button, it takes me to my new site, but nothing has changed. It is still the default header (Makisig) and my blog title and tagline does not show up.

    Have I missed something?

    Thanks in advance.

Your site appears to use an image based title. This is your theme doing that, so you need to adjust the theme or take it up with the theme author.

By “adjust the theme”, do you mean that I should just get a different theme?

    Thanks.

Well, no.. Like I said, that title is an IMAGE. If you want to use a different image, then you’d have to replace that image.

Themes tend to require editing to be customized to a particular site. You have to edit actual code to modify them, usually.

Okay, thanks for your help. Much appreciated.

Hi, wonder if anyone can assist me in a similar issue. I am using the Bluebrown theme, and my tagline does not appear as well. In fact it repeats the title name instead. What do I do? Other themes do not do this.

At the same time, my title does not link back to the homepage but instead directs to a 404 error page. I’ve checked the questions here in the support pages but can’t seem to find any solution.
