Where is my homepage with Allegiant theme?
-
Hi all,
I know just enough of WordPress to be dangerous. My previous experience in using WordPress was several years ago and the homepage was https://website/index.php. I am setting up a WordPress site for a local sports team and Allegiant was chosen as the theme. While I can edit the homepage I do not see it listed in the pages section of WP. Not a big deal but it is making me curious about where it resides. Compounding that the website must be bilingual English/French. I have installed Polylang and it seems to be working well. But again, the French homepage is not listed in the pages section of WP. I can see the French homepage if I enter https://website/fr/ but it does not have any of the features automatically loaded that the English version got by default when I loaded the sample data for Allegiant.
I have two questions:
Where is the homepage actually located if the theme does not show it as a page?
Is there anything I can do to get the /fr/ version of the homepage to load all of the features that are in the English version?OK, I’ll throw in a third question. Directing people to https://website/fr/ as a toggle for language is not a big deal but I have seen sites where it is
https://website/?lang=fr I assume that /?lang=fr is a cleaner method to direct visitors to the site. Is the difference because of how the multilingual link is set up or is there deeper significance? Thanks all in advance.
