Where is my .htaccess file? How do I create one?

  • I just installed WordPress version 2.0.2 using Fanstisco in my hosting server.

    I then changed the permalink structure and clicked “update”.

    The next screen tells me that I should update my .htacess now.

    However, I can’t find this file anywhere. I read in the forums that some of you are creating one. How do I create one?

    Please help!!

  • Create an empty file (e.g. in a plain text editor) and name it .htaccess. Upload it, make it writable (chmod 666) and repeat the permalink setting operation.
