• Hello there

could you please tell me where the .htaccess file is? According to Giving_WordPress_Its_Own_Directory I should move the index.php file and the .htaccess file to the root directory if I would like to have the following:

actual wordpress storage on my server:
    rootFiles/wordpress

whilst I would like to have simply the following displayed: example.homedns.org
    instead of example.homedns.org/wordpress
    ?

Therefore, I now changed the wordpress address url in the general settings:
    https://example.dyndns.org/wordpress

    and
    blog address:
    https://example.dyndns.org

so, I understand that I should put the index.php into the root together with the .htaccess. Does wordpress have its own .htaccess because the original webserver’s apache .htaccess file is stored somewhere else and I don’t think I should move that to somewhere else.

    Cheers,
    George
