    Hi everyone!

When WP introduced its new editor I was ecstatic… but now I can’t find it again. Normally when you click on New Post, the option to use the new editor should appear. It doesn’t.

How do I get to it??

    Thank you!

New editor? When did that happen?!

Are you talking about wordpress.com? If so, you’re on the wrong forums. These forums are for self-installed WordPress.

All right, I’ll try there then. Thank you.

So I tried there… and they sent me back here… so a bit at a loss of what to do… surely SOMEONE has seen this new editor and can direct me towards it, even informally?

You’ve used a new post editor? What did it look like? How was it different ? I have no idea what you’re referring to.

Did it involve installing a plugin? If so, take a look at your list of installed plugins for a clue.

Did you install WordPress on your own hosting? Or are you using WordPress.com? Depending on the answer, you either use these forums or not. I wouldn’t know much about the .com version, but am vaguely aware that they brought in an alternative to the usual dashboard a few months ago.

Sorry, I don’t know much either… I host my own blog, BUT the editor was on WP.com… it was brilliant! But I keep getting sent back and forth so I’m utterly confused now…

Are you saying you’ve got two websites?

    One self-hosted. One on .com?

Then don’t expect them to work the exact same way.

No… I have a self-hosted blog. However, until recently there was an option to use a new editor and yes, the option was from wp.com. Don’t ask me how – I have no idea. The option was there – now it’s gone. Perhaps someone has heard of this?

are you using JETPACK plugin-perhaps the “new editor” is a tool related to this plugin.

I do use Jetpack, but WPcom announced the change so it’s not a Jetpack thing… oh well, I’m starting to feel like I’m in a parallel universe… maybe I dreamt it!

    Jetpack is connected to WordPress.com

I know what the OP is talking about. I used to see this blurb at the top of the editor about trying some other (online I assume) editor connected to WordPress. I never tried it and now this “advertisement” is not present.

Have written to Jetpack. Thank you.

I stumbled across the new editor today. It is, indeed, part of the Jetpack plugin. So you edit the post via your account on wordpress.com, but you can post it on your self-hosted blog. It looks pretty slick and works seamlessly – it has a preview button which previews on your hosted site, as expected.

Is it possible to use this “new editor”, with or without Jetpack installed (I’ll install this bloatware if I have to), in the self hosted environment? I don’t want to ever go to wordpress.com to do this. I want to always login to my own mydomain.com to edit, with the new editor. Is this possible?
