Hi, my reports vanished and instead an empty report group was created at a strange time of day leading me to suspect foul play, anyway, I want to recover my saved reports and have backups but would rather not restore the whole mysql database.
Do you have guidance or reference to where your reporting system stores its configuration and/or the table/fields I might recover to get my old reports back.
    Thanks,

Further to my own post, all the files that were exported before this event are still present. Since both your Clear Now and Reset Now buttons claim to delete these it seems unlikely somebody gained accessed and removed my reports rather something else has gone wrong.
However it might still be worth my looking to see if the report configurations are still present, wherever they are kept?
    thanks,

I have managed to solve this myself if not legitimately…
On the 20th November, I think about 5.30am GMT, all my reports disappeared.
Having restored the table wp_exportsreports_reports the reports came back although in each report the SQL string was swapped into the SQL count part of the configuration with the sql string now saying ‘administrator’… I am guessing an upgrade of this plugin took place which did not go correctly and that having restored the table the columns were not as the plugin was expecting.
    Does that ring any bells?

Hi I also have this problem in the last couple of weeks, but the reports keep being deleted from the sql database.

I am also convinced the upgrade has gone wrong somehow

The latest release should solve this issue, which would happen when there were problems getting the correct option from the DB (or if there was a object cache malfunction). See: https://github.com/sc0ttkclark/exports-and-reports/issues/6

Thanks for your concern Scott, just as a further note to this issue, it happened again although I am not clear how recently as I have not used the reports in a while, but I am guessing it was connected with a wordpress update we did 2-3 weeks ago, it is the only thing I can think of which may have affected it.
Fortunately my support guy had the same older backup of the system from before the first time this happened and since I have not changed my reports since I was able to restore again. This time I have made notes of the SQL in my reports.

Just as another follow up to this, the reports vanished again within the 3 days since restoring them before, since I have not made further updates to the site in the last 3 days, this implies that the action of updating is not causal or at least not at the time of the update.

    Thanks

Are you running the latest release already?
