Hello, I use Updraft to do the backups of all my sites but this time one of the websites had the htaccess and wp-config wiped out, I can add the basic WP htaccess code but I need to restore the wp-config that has all the data from the DB and the keys from the installation. I can’t access the site to restore the files directly with UP and I can’t find the wp-config file in the backup folders which is probably one of the most important files we need to backup, how should I proceed?

    Thanks

    Hi,

The wp-config is in the “Core” section of the backup. This is only included in the Premium version of the plugin.

The best course of action would be to start with a fresh WP install, install UpdraftPlus and restore using this guide: https://updraftplus.com/faqs/restore-site-updraftplus/

    This will generate fresh passwords/keys/salts.

Wow, I didn’t know that such a crucial file was not included, I was so confident that with UP I had everything covered and been using it for years.
I will try with a clean install then.

    Thanks.
