Do not edit the theme itself. First create a child theme for your changes.

I replied in your other thread about removing the space you originally asked about. Let me know if that does the trick. Adding new text to the top of the sidebar won’t reduce the space, if that’s your goal, so you might want to try the CSS solution I offered first.
