Where to install WordPress?

Hi,
I am trying to create a new site as a replacement for an old, non-responsive site.
I asked 4UHosting Ltd for advice, and they suggested installing WP alongside the current website
I got the following information after installing:

WordPress opens fine, but I am being asked to log in every minute or two. Also, I am unable to install any plugins.

I think that I may have been advised badly!
