Where to put code/display

Hello,
Very newb question, but where would I put this code? Somewhat newbie to code (I’ve played with it enough but not super in depth) but would really like to do this type of search by color feature. I have set my category images but can’t get them to display.Want to do similar to this website and show all the associated colors tagged to the post

Hello, I’d love to get an answer to this? My .php files refresh regularly, just the way my theme is built, so I would lose all code I put into them. Is there something I can put in each post or in custom CSS somewhere for this to show on my posts?!
