Where’d Tags Go? I Want Them Back

  • I just did the latest update. When I went to do a new posting, I found no Tags insertion feature. It is completely missing, and I’m afraid I’ve been using Tags to classify postings’ topics for years. Help!

  • Mmh, I can’t understand that in my case. As soon as I create a new post in a fresh WordPress 6.3 installation, I can also set tags on it.

    I assume you use the Block Editor to create posts?

    Which theme do you use? Can you change it to a standard theme like TwentyTwentyThree? Is the option then there again?

    You could also deactivate all plugins to rule them out as the cause.

    No, I stuck to the classic editor.

    I tried switching to Block Mode, and everything seemed to be right back to normal. I had the TAGS entry point on the right. I put in a posting, published it, and it worked.

    I am, I’m afraid, unacquainted with the Block functionality. Never used it. Right now, everything looks the same as before and I can’t tell if the Block stuff is really turned on. I suppose it doesn’t really matter. As long as it does what I need.
