    Hello team

If I use the faceook plugin to sync products to facebook can you please confirm what all information and value does the plugin send to facebook?

I am trying to create “sets” in facebook based on “brand” and “product category” but it seems this plugin is not sending that data!

Is there some documentation which tells what data is sent by the plugin? Thanks

  • Hi @sanchitgoyal,

You can learn more about the data synced to the Facebook catalog from this section of the documentation:

    https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/facebook-for-woocommerce/#sync-products-to-facebook

We have an opened issue in regards to brands being not synced to the Facebook catalog.

Our developers are working on it, hopefully it will be resolved soon.

Currently Facebook for WooCommerce only supports default categories. As a workaround, you can set brands per product.

    I hope that helps!

    Hello

I checked the link you sent but it seems to mention more about Google categories and the related information rather than the general information which is sent by this plugin for woocommerce if We do not enable the google categories.

For example this plugin does not seem to be sending “product category” information to facebook which We can use to filter products by product category in the facebook catalogue. Regards

    Hi @sanchitgoyal,

For example this plugin does not seem to be sending “product category” information to facebook which We can use to filter products by product category in the facebook catalogue.

The plugin uses Google product categories to map your categories with Facebook Categories. This is clarified in the documentation here.

    To quote

You should map a WooCommerce category to a Facebook category (using the Google Product Category Taxonomy). Google Product Category (GPC) codes are required for the proper calculation of tax. GPC information can be set at both the global and individual product levels. To assign a default GPC to all products in your catalog, navigate to Marketing > Facebook > Product Sync tab and select the appropriate primary and secondary GPC in the section titled Default Google Product Category.

Please don’t be confused by the Google Product Taxonomy. Consider this more like a reference to map your products to Facebook Categories. You need to set this up to ensure you are able to tweak other product attributes including product categories.

    Hello

    Thanks for the reply.

Just to clarify this has nothing to do with google product categories. Facebook has a value “product type” which should have the value of “woocommerce categories” (Nothing to do with google categories here)

Every other feed plugin sends the correct value (even when google categories are not configured). The image shared here is after making the catalogue via product feed pro plugin.

Currently this plugin sends “blank” value.

    Hey there!

It sounds like this would be best handled within our ticketing platform.

Please contact us at WooCommerce.com > My Account > Support. You may need to create an account before you can access that page.

Please include a link to this forum thread, so that we can keep track of what’s already been done.

We will be able to help you further there.
