Which category is in the permalink?

  • When ever I put a post into more than one category it seems to randomly choose which one will be used as the permalink. Is there any way to control this? Especially as I want to add some posts to new categories but of course I do not want to change their links.

    It’s not random. WordPress uses the category with the lowest id (ie the oldest) and you cannot change this behaviour.

    Not as far as I am aware but you could try searching for one.
