Hi, thanks for making such a great plugin.

I have a doubt on GDPR policy related.

As we are using Google analytics code directly in this plugin, what should one add to the GDPR plugin as script? [I am using this plugin CookieYes | GDPR Cookie Consent for GDPR Policy]

So that if any user opts-out of the policy and don’t want to be tracked using analytics. Then there won’t be any analytics code on that users’ browser.

    Thank you.

    Hi!

Could you provide more information about the cookie plugin? CAOS provides many ways to behave with cookie plugins.

For example, what’s the name (and possible value) of the cookie that’s created after the users accepts the cookie banner?

Hi, @daanvandenbergh I don’t understand on this what needs to be done.

I also tried to ask this on plugin’s support here, please look at this for CAOS plugin cookie to block on user rejects the cookie.

You have also mentioned in your plugin description section about compatibility with Cookiyes GDPR plugin >

Compatible with all Cookie Notice plugins, e.g.
    Complianz,
    CookieYes,
    WP Cookie Notice,
    Cookie Notice & Compliance,

So, please let me know exactly what I have to tell you?

Hi, @daanvandenbergh can you recommend any good GDPR plugin?

In which we can easily add cookies manually?

I asked here, this is what they replied. ??

Unfortunately they didn’t really put any work into their reply, did they? Haha

Anyway, I’ve checked the URL you mentioned in the forum post there, and you can simply do these settings in CAOS to use it with CookieYes:

Allow tracking… When cookie is set.

    Cookie Name: CookieLawInfoConsent

    That should do it!

Hi, @daanvandenbergh ?? thank you for your reply.

First of all, I am a bit confused ??. I am using minimal analytics, but I can’t see any script related to google analytics or CAOS.

    Is this normal?

Let me know about this first.

And I have done what you mentioned above, can you please let me know if it is working correctly for this site > reviewskia.com?

Another question I had was regarding cache plugin, Litespeed cache > in this I have set JavaScript deferred, do I need to exclude anything (JS files) for this plugin or analytics?

As this file needs to be loaded first right, anyway it is lightweight now as I am using Minimal analytics!! ??

And for Adjusted Bounce Rate (seconds) what would be the right number? As per your experience?

    Plugin Author DaanvandenBergh

    (@daanvandenbergh)

Please disable whatever plugin is base64 encoding all your JavaScript. It won’t speed up your site, and I can’t check anything this way ??

That’ll probably answer your first question, too.

After you did that, I can answer your other questions.

    (@sudarshankotian)

Still @daanvandenbergh not getting which plugin is adding this base64 encoding ??????

    Plugin Author DaanvandenBergh

    (@daanvandenbergh)

I’m guessing a JS or CSS optimization plugin. Weren’t you using LS Cache? Check it’s options.

    Thread Starter Xandro

    (@sudarshankotian)

Yes!! @daanvandenbergh but when I asked them this is what they replied.

    Thread Starter Xandro

    (@sudarshankotian)

    Ok, @daanvandenbergh confirmed!!!

I temporarily disabled Litespeed cache plugin on this sub domain > nl.reviewskia.com.

Can you please let me know if everything is working correctly?

[And let me know which I was earlier pointing out (some doubts)]

    Thank you.

    Plugin Author DaanvandenBergh

    (@daanvandenbergh)

    Hi!

Yes, the Base64 encoding is gone now, and I can see the Minimal Analytics tracking code properly being added.

Also, the request to the Google Analytics API is properly being sent: https://imgur.com/a/TCcqdIs

    To answer your other questions:

Yes, to be sure I’d exclude any JavaScript added by CAOS from optimization by LS Cache. There’s an option where you can enter strings to exclude, something like *google-analytics.com* would suffice.

The Adjusted Bounce Rate depends entirely on you and the type of content you have on your site, after how many seconds do you feel that a visitor has gotten what he/she came for? That’s what you should ask yourself.

    Thread Starter Xandro

    (@sudarshankotian)

Thanks @daanvandenbergh for the update. ??

On rejecting the cookie consent for analytics, still there seems to be script is loading.

?? I am still not able to solve this.

I don’t want to put cookie consent just for show-up, if it actually doesn’t fulfil the GDPR purpose/Privacy. ??

Where do you think I am doing wrong!! ??

And can I enable Litespeed cache after we can confirm that this thing is working correctly?

    2. Ok so for cache setting I only need to add this to exclude list, right? > *google-analytics.com*

    3. On bounce rate I will have to see when site actually gets enough traffic.
