Which folders i should NOT delete from my Host?

  • Hi , i just installed wordpress ,

    before i had in my host/domain my old webpage wich was made using another program.

    Now as i am using wordpress i dont need those old files , but i dont know wich ones are from wordpress and wich are from the old program.

    I can see all these files using the godaddy ftp client.

  • Hi,

    From what I can remember (without looking at my install cos I’m not at my computer) all wordpress files and folders from a root directory begin with ‘wp’. So you are pretty safe in deleting any that don’t begin with ‘wp’.

    I will check this when I get back to my computer but I 99% sure this is the case!

    Hi,

    Just checked my files they all start with wp including the folders so keep them, also keep index.php and a file called xmlrpc.php.

    That should be it all.
