• Ok, so I have so many issues with this plugin that I need real support. So I filled out a “contact” form asking which paid support option to pick – “15 min tech support” or “installation support”. Maybe someone here can suggest which one to use?

The summary of issues I need resolved are:

    1. CDNs not working properly – leaving out a ton of tiles. MAXCDN not even uploading files or offering a button to initiate uploads.
    2. Minify does not work at even the most basic level (combine only). Best I can figure out its creating the names of the temporary minified files but not actually creating the files on disk.
    3. Cannot get the expires headers to work at all.

I don’t know if I need “tech support” because something is broken or if I need “installation support” because the product works and I might not know how to use the configuration screens properly. I’m leaning towards “15 min support” because, hopefully, I can get the phone call in 15 mins.

Thanks in advance for any advice from anyone who has used either of these options in the past.

  • – If the expires headers are not working make sure you have mod_expires installed on your host.
    – Try using Autoptimize to combine your CSS + JS files.
    – For the CDN read this.. https://www.wpbeginner.com/wp-tutorials/how-install-wordpress-cdn-solution-maxcdn/

    Hi Destac:

Thanks for your suggestion. mod_expires isn’t what I need because I am on a dedicated IIS server, not apache or apache on linux.

Auto-optimize doesn’t work – it breaks the site.

Unfortunately, the CDN link to WPBeginner didn’t help at all. My issue isn’t making W3TC talk to MAXCDN or S3 – it’s that none of the files or not all the files are being uploaded that should be uploaded so things are breaking.

Basic page and database caching seems to work just fine. Its all the other stuff that doesn’t work right now.

Still haven’t heard back from the W3TC folks so not sure if support is really offered at any price at this point. :/

    Thanks again!

You have to configure Autoptimize by excluding the CSS and JS files just like you would need to with W3.

Here is another link for MaxCDN.

W3 wont set the expires for you since you aren’t on a Linux server. You will need to look into it on your own.

    Hi Destac

Thanks again. I ended up trying out BWPMinify and that seems to work well. I just hate adding yet another plugin to my configuration.

I didn’t realize that W3TC wouldn’t do the expires on a non-linux server so thank you for letting me know that. I can stop beating my head against that wall!

    I really appreciate your input.
