• Hi All,
I’m new to wordpress and am looking for assistance in selecting the right plugin.
I’m working with a volunteer organization.
I would like to have an online sign in form for volunteers to register to cover an event for a block of time.
For example, we may have a point of distribution at a local school for a week from 10AM to 8PM for a week, and we need to man it with a minimum of three people. We found scheduling two hour shifts to work out pretty well. Although some will cover more than one shift on any one day, and be willing to work many days.

In the past we had a paper sign-up sheet with blocks of hours listed for each day that we planned on manning. Eack block had room for three volunteers to sign in.

    I’d like something similar.
I’d like suggestions, perhaps something in event management, or appointment managment.

I installed “events Manager” by Marcus Sykes. It is a great piece of work, but may not be a perfect fit for my needs.

    Samuel B,
    Thanks for the response.
I installed contact form 7. It allows custom forms, but it is really a one way form of communication. I would prefer something like an editable spreadsheet that is instantly updated (maybe after a change is approved by a mod)this way 20 people don’t register for the 8-10 timeslot, and no one registers for the 10-12 timeslot.

Any suggestions along that line of thinking?

Poppy did you find a solution as i need the exact same thing!

LIKEWISE. i have been looking and looking. i can’t believe i see so many people asking for this and it doesn’t exist!

Very painful, cant say how much time i have spent looking and how many times i have been pointed to contact forms.
If I find something I will surely post it here! Please do the same.

I think what you need is custom development to accomplish this. There is not a plugin for every need. However you may be able to achieve this by using a embedded Google spreadsheet and their forms feature, though. Also Gravity Forms could be configured to accomplish something similar to this, although again it would require some expertise to configure to meet the exact goals described here.
