Which URL will be used if leave “Canonical URL” as empty?

    Hi,

    If I leave the “Canonical URL” setting to empty(this is the default setting), then which URL will be used as the canonical URL? The permalink of the post?

    Hi @chcw

    Yoast SEO automatically adds self referencing canonical URL. So if you keep the canonical URL field blank, Yoast SEO will show the post URL as the canonical URL.

    Do you face any issue regarding canonical URL? If yes, please feel free to elaborate.
