Which version of Cutline theme is best for a first time user?

    I am new blogger using WordPress 2.3.3 and want to know which version of Cutline you believe it would be best to use with it — Cutline 1.2 or Cutline 2.1? Also, which Plug-ins do you consider obvious choices?
