I recently loaded W3tc ver 9.2.10 and had to remove it to get my site running again. I didn’t load 9.2.11 because it appears to already have problems with WP. I’m a first time user of W3tc so don’t have the past experience to go back to a known stable version.

Can anyone tell me which version of W3tc is stable with WP 3.5.1?

    Regards,
    Tom

    found the answer: ver 9.2.9

Thanks – I have been wondering the same thing… as I am still on W3TC v. 0.9.2.5, which was the stable version for a long time – and I have been waiting for the dust to (still) settle on this latest round of updates and ongoing issues.

Where/how did you come to that conclusion about v. 0.9.2.9?

    Thanks

I simply looked under the drop down list in the compatibility widget until I found one that said “Works”.

I tested version 0.9.2.9 and found it not working. Personally I would recommend v0.9.2.5 It works great and always it will. I think all people should consider switching back to this version.

I didnt have problems with 0.9.2.9 on WordPress 3.5.1.
Its with 0.9.2.10 that problems started with minification of JS and CSS and they are still not completely solved with the latest version 0.9.2.11.

likewise; no problem with 0.9.2.9; from 10 to 11 all nightmares. Went back to 0.9.2.9 until people saytsit is really solved.

You know, I really used to love this plugin but it’s such a headache now, I just disabled it completely and it works much better. I think Frederick needs to fix these issues with Minify once and for all and being more proactive in replying here. Yes it’s a free plugin but it’s lost a lot of its sparkle in the past 5 releases.

@keating, it’s impossible to keep the sparkle in supporting a plugin for 3y and trying to overcome the various limitations of various hosting environments. We have a full test suite that we use as we try to not add features (quite often), but address core performance issues that only people with in-house teams can address.

Either way, lots of people have success and some don’t and it’s incredibly challenging to support users on forums because I can’t see their settings. It never gets easier. A lot of people think minify worked well, but they don’t realize how many people it didn’t work for at all. There are plugins that do minify, but they do not actually do so in a way that scales properly, finding that balance is a needle in a haystack and I’m not satisfied with how things are going either, but rather than talk, I work.

Thanks for using W3TC, the final release (v1.0) (when it comes out one-day), won’t have these issues obviously.
