White band round dark container

Hello. I was using a two-container format and I used this code to color the text area of the page

.site  .inside-article  {
    background-color: #303030;
    color: #ffffff;
}

But now that I’ve changed to one container, I have a white band running all round my text.
Does someone pls have a piece of code so the whole page is the same dark bkgrd color?
