I don’t know what happened to your site, can’t even get a page source on it. can you get into your admin? BTW you can FTP on godaddy.

I was using the WordPress admin panel.

This is what I have as a backup file from this plugin I downloaded. Would it work if I reset my wordpress and re-install with this backup? (even though I’d have no idea how to do that).

I suspect you have a DB problem, godaddy may be able to help with that. Once you have the site back up, you can (and should) use the backup utility provided in the CPanel which will back up your whole site including the database files. I personally don’t use or like the plugins for backing up my sites. I have to much work involved to lose it if a plugin fails. I am not saying that your plugin is bad, read the documentation on how to restore your site carefully.

Your very welcome. I have been very happy with GoDaddy, their support is excellent. Ask them how to setup FTP, I use a program called COREFTP which works great. Don’t edit any of your core WP or Theme files. If you plan in the future to add CSS customizations on your site, use a child-theme.

I don’t think my web designer touched anything on the core WP or theme files but simply coded on the pages themselves. For every other modification I used Custom CSS. I’m a very noob so FTP seems a bit hard for me!

For the backup of the website, I went on Godaddy’s Cpanel and under BACKUP it proposes: Restore files and database from the last 30 days.

However my website is fine now, everything is where it should be, back on track. If I hit this Restore option, won’t it reset my website back to whatever number of days I choose, instead of providing me with a backup?
Or did you mean that I didn’t NEED a backup of the website since Godaddy has this restoring option in its Cpanel?

After you have made any changes to your site, then back it up. Backing up right now will be the same as your site now as it just got restored from backup. I think I said that right..
