White page of death after auto update to 4.6

  • My server uses Softaculous to manage applications. I thought I backed up before the update, but it looks like it had auto updated before that happened.

    Everything disappeared.
    No access to login or any other page on website
    I have added memory to config.php, still nothing
    – disabled plugins – nothing
    – re enabled plugins – nothing
    Is there something in the index.php top level that I can check?
    Sorry I am a bit stupid about this and the web designer who assists me is away.

    OK well the restore to 4.5.3 worked! I didn’t even know there were automated backups in Softaculous until you pointed that out. Thank you!!!

    If you have any links to pages describing how to do an upgrade properly… I would appreciate it. Thank you for going through this with me! Fantastic.

    Are you using W3 Total Cache Plugin? I had the same problem and I could restore my website by cleaning W3 Total Cache.
