White Page Of Death: Can’t Access Site Online

    Hi there,

    Thanks for reading this.

    I can no longer access my website. When I type in the url I get a white page and my computer tries to download it. I’m on a Mac and when I type my web address in, I go to a white page and the grey download symbol jumps from the page to my downloads folder. I can then see a file with my website’s address in said folder, but can’t do anything with it.

    I can access my dashboard and can move around within it as usual. Whenever I click to preview a page or to visit my site the same thing happens. I’ve tried deactivating and reactivating the plug ins and my theme on the dashboard, but nothing has worked. I have the latest version of WP and everything is updated.

    My hosting recently renewed. Could that be an issue? It did it’s annual automatic renewal, so I’m assuming that wouldn’t be a problem. I have hosting with 1and1.

    It’s my work website, so I really need to try and get it up and running again. Any help you can offer will be hugely appreciated.

    THIS HAS BEEN RESOLVED WITH 1and1.

    Sorry, I just called them and it was a problem their end with the name of my html file. They’ve changed it and I’m back up and running.
