white screen?

    Very happy to have found this plugin.

    When installed, when I visit front page of site, I get a white screen. Is this the normal behavior?

    I’d love to be able to get the plugin to block directory pages, activity and profile pages, but leave the rest of the site accessible.

    Thanks for any clarification or suggestions.

    PS: I included site link, but disabled plugin temporarily.

    I have never seen this behaviour.

    But it is probably a plugin conflict, some other plugins do some funky things that cannt be accounted for.

    Can you confirm?

    1. This is still happening when all other plugins are disabled?

    2. If so can you tunr on wp debug and advise the errors being generated?

    Thanks for reply. Error log showed it’s a conflict with BuddyPress Wall, which is an abandoned plugin. I guess it’s time to find a new replacement plugin (for BuddyPress Wall).

    Okay thanks, I’m resolving this then for good order. But I’ll still monitor the thread if issues occur.

    With some testing, I identified the three plugins which create the whitescreen error:

    1. https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/buddypress-cover-photo/

    2. https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/buddypress-usernames-only/

    3. https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/buddypress-wall/

    1. BuddyPress Cover Photo seems to be an active plugin, still supported, so I’m not sure what to think about this.

    2. BuddyPress Username Only seems to be abandoned. We need it and I can’t yet seem to find an alternative. Still looking.

    3. BuddyPress Wall seems to be abandoned, but I think I found an alternative (BuddyBoss Wall)

    When used with LH Private BuddyPress, all three of these plugins throw a “Cannot redeclare” error.

    Is there a possible workaround for this? Thanks for any suggestions.

    to be honest those plugins suck (technically), they hook their whole init to an action which can be run multiple times

    Anyway they are not changing so I’ve found a workaround, upgrade to the latest version of my plugin (1.08), your problems should be solved but please test.

    If it works a good review or a donation to the cause would be appreciated (but totally up to you)

    I realize the plugins have bad code. Giving me all kinds of errors. But, if you got to have it, you got to have it.

    Thanks for the workaround. Will test.
