White Screen after reinstalling theme files

I was having trouble with a client site. I installed a fresh clone (with wp clone) but the theme options werent working anymore.

I deleted the theme files and reinstalled them through ftp.

I got the white screen of death.

So I changed the filename of the theme in ftp and was able to log in and activate the default theme.

Now every time I upload a fresh copy of the theme and activate it, i get the white screen. This doesnt happen on any other theme in the site.

My gut tells me that something in the database is remembering my error. Ive been all through wp options in phpMyAdmin, but i dont know enough about database stuff to understand how to fix it. I checked the error logs on the server, there are none.

Anyone got any ideas??
