Yes, there might be a delay. Just try to get the site functional with a default theme and no plugins. Does it work okay then?

Sounds like you may need to replace the core WP files – everything EXCEPT wp-content and wp-config (be careful to not overwrite those!) – and delete the old ones before uploading new since that ensures you have new copies.

what can i change from the cpanel to make it more functional?

I’m still not clear on where things are – does the site work okay with a default theme and no plugins?

If yes, try activating whatever theme you want to use.

If still okay, then activate plugins one by one to see if any cause problems.

If so, you will need to post in the sub-forum for that particular plugin so the developer will hopefully be able to assist you.

No the site didn’t work at all with no plugins.

I had to call in a favour and get someone to go in and help.
He said the site was a mess and best starting from scratch as it’s all so out if date.
I have no idea what he did – I’m waiting for him to tell me.

Everything looks the same – nothing has been updated???
