• i assumed i had plugin troubles and i tried the trick of renaming the plugins folder to plugins_old and making a new plugin folder. it did not work.

so i reinstalled wp from my zip file, and just updated the wp_content folder since i had a theme in there i had customized.

    still the white screen.

i had prior to this tried to delete two plugins from ftp, albumize and kpicasa. i got an error stating the were in use and could not delete them. so i just gave up on that. the folders were empty but they were still there.

i don’t know what happened. how could i be getting a white screen after a reinstallation???

nothing. no site, just white screen. there has got to be something in wp-login or one of the main pages that is causing this

    bumpin this.

would anyone be able to help if i used pastebin? what page should i put on the pastebin?

ok i put the debug language in my config file. i reloaded my blog. i got this error at the top of the page by the nav menu (the blog still loaded tho)

WordPress database error: [Unknown column ‘Array’ in ‘where clause’]
    SELECT post_id, meta_key, meta_value FROM wp_postmeta WHERE post_id IN(Array) ORDER BY post_id, meta_key

is this my problem? is this why i cannot get my dashboard? what does this mean and how do i fix it?

That looks like a custom query to me – maybe from a theme or plugin?

what does that mean exactly and what bit of code do i need to change to make it stop? ??

Yep, I had two plugins that fouled everything up: Sociable and Ravatars

    thanks for the instructions!

I have a new problem! I also got a blanc screen after the update, renamed my plugins to plugins-old via ftp.
    Now I get the message;

W3 Total Cache Error: some files appear to be missing or out of place. Please re-install plugin or remove /customers/apex-club.be/apex-club.be/httpd.www/wp-content/advanced-cache.php.

I deleted w3 total cache plugin but the error remains!!

solved it, something went wrong with the download

is there a way reinstate (go-back) my content? in attempting to update to 3.0 i seem to have lost all. when i access my site al i get is white screen. same for /wp-admin. can’t even access the dashboard…?

mikemraz, try resettings your plugins. If that resolves the issue, reactivate each one individually until you find the cause.

If that does not resolve the issue, access your server via FTP or SFTP, navigate to /wp-content/themes/ and rename everything except the /twentyten/ directory. This will force the Twenty Ten theme to activate and hopefully rule-out a theme-specific issue.

If that didn’t work either, please start your own topic.

thanks – was able to make adjustments to wp-config.php so now i see all my content (headings/archives & misc) listed under my heading text and sub-head. All centered in black default text on a white background. So, i know the content exists but the theme seems to be missing. tried reinstating the twentyten default with no success…. any other ideas maxmanx?

mikemraz, as you issue has nothing to do with this topic, please start your own.

    thanks – will do!
