White Screen for Setup Page/ Home

    I have a brand new WP install (version 5.9.1) and a fresh WooCommerce Install (6.3.0) at Hostgator. Clicking the setup Wizard or the Home link from the WP dashboard results in a blank white page. (There is full page code in “ViewSource” but nothing visible). I’ve tried disabling all other plugins and increasing memory to 256m as advised in other posts. Debug showed nothing. Browser console view shows many cookie errors and warnings including “wp-settings-1” is “already expired” as well as a variety of cross-site warnings.

    As a first step, please clear the cache on your site as explained here let us know if this makes a difference?

    If not, please share a copy of any fatal error log found under WooCommerce > System Status > Logs (if available).

    Let us know what you find.

    Caches cleared (again).

    No fatal error log. Only test log (empty) and wc-image-regeneration….

    Seems you’re having some cookie issue.

    Can you try opening the page in private/incognito browser mode? This is to check if, without persistent cookies, the site works.

    Same issue/same errors in Firefox private mode. Plug-in auto-updated to WooCommerce 6.3.1

    Thanks for checking on that. When you view the source, what does the last line say? I was working with a merchant last week who had a similar problem on the page/post edit screen. We discovered that the HTML stopped rendering before reaching the end of the page.

    Are you able to see all the way to the closing `</body>
    </html>` tags at the bottom?

    Hi @bfchris1

    Could you test it again a couple of times and confirm whether the source code ends consistently at this point of the page?

    If so, it might be an error in the wp-includes/media.template.php file, which is where this script code comes from.

    In this case, I’d recommend that you overwrite it with the original file, which can be downloaded here:

    The source code ends consistently there….but replacing the file with the one from github didn’t seem to fix it.

    Interestingly, some other pages in Admin, specifically the page editor, also experience the same white screen issue, with code cutting off in a block that appears related to the same file. More interestingly, some pages show the issue, others do not. For example, when clicking “Edit”:

    Blank Page: About, Contact, Home

    OK: Blog, Cart, Checkout, My Account

    NOTE: Cleared WP Cache and browser cache after file update and before further testing. Pages listed have not been edited by me previously…fresh install.
