  • If you delete the plugin file(s) wordpress will automatically disable the plugin for you and it should work fine.

Only delete the file(s) for the plugin that’s misbehaving though!

thanks for your reply … I am not sure which plugin is acting up so should I just start deleting one at a time through FTP until the blog reappears? Is the white screen of death generally a plugin problem?

Yes, the WSOD is usually a plugin problem, but most likely it’s not on this occasion. If your admin froze during the update, the post probably didn’t get put in the database correctly. There might be an error in the post which is causing the WSOD. If you have a backup of the post on your local machine you could try logging into MySQL and deleting the post from the database.

thanks for the reply jon … I have tried to delete all of the plugins and that did not work.

How do I access the actual posts … I went into my database and only see folders for the following:

    wp_categories
    wp_comments
    wp_linkcategories
    wp_links
    wp_options
    wp_post2cat
    wp_postmeta
    wp_posts
    wp_usermeta
    wp_users

I cannot click into any of these folders, however there is a button for “upload MySQL Dump File”

Any suggestions … I know which post I was on but do not know how to get to it.

Do you have access to phpMyAdmin?

The data for a post is spread across several tables in the database.

For example the category is in the post2cat table, the post comments in the wp_comments table and the actual body of the post are in the wp_posts table.
