• I’m having a pretty major problem and I and the GoDaddy haven’t been able to figure it out. Everything was working fine for about a week when all of a sudden my site went down. At first, GoDaddy said that this was an issue with my physical memory and a plugin so I went in through phpMyadmin and turned off all the plugins. I only reactivated the ones essential to my site and the Gantry framework, I have purchased one premium add on called GridFX and the others are all Gantry framework. The physical memory is not longer maxed out, but now I get the white screen of death. It will let me in long enough to install some plugins after I reset the plugins and/or sometimes theme then back to that screen (who know a white screen could cause so much anxiety) I’m stumped and I need the site back up asap so any help would be appreciated. Could this be a problem with GoDaddy? I haven’t always read the best reviews. I’m running a Gantry framework and I would rather change my host than change the framework. I’m running a premium Oculus theme on top of it, if that helps.

Just a word of warning this could run a little NSFW

  • First, just to get past the white screen of death, you can deactivate your plugins and theme using ftp so it will default to a basic setup just to see if any issues lie with any code you have.

Currently, I am not seeing any white screen but your home screen is just showing a graphic and that it is it. You do have wp-super cache activated so make sure you turn off caching and to clear it while troubleshooting.

Godaddy may be behind it and as you already know, people have had some issues with them in the past.

Thanks, I was able to get it back up and working but it went down again.

It seems to only happen when I go to one of my pages-a destination page. Anybody have any insight into this? Should I delete the page?

Is there anything special about the page? Is it using some specific code from a plugin or template?

I am having the same problem. I recently updated plugins and WordPress and now I can’t see or access my site. Earlier today I could get in and make some changes, but if I clicked on a page, or on some other dashboard element, the screen would go blank. After restarting my browser and/or computer I could get back in, but only briefly. Now I can’t access or see it at all! I have tried multiple browsers and computers (Mac and PC) I really don’t know what to do. I have seen this problem in other forums, and the solutions seem to have something to do with the php. However, I migrated over from WordPress.com and have no idea how to even access the php on my site. my site is https://www.downtownphoenixagent.com Help!

@downtownphoenixagent you should start your own thread since your situation may be slightly different.

No, it uses a premium plug in called GridFX but it’s on multiple pages without the same problem. I’m fairly frustrated with GoDaddy and from Gantry’s forum it seems I’m not the only GoDaddy customer with this particular problem. Thinking of switching to HostGator. Have you had any experience with them?

HostGator ROCKS!! Personal experience, tho. I develop many plugins for WordPress.. and HostGator has never given me any issues. I use them for the majority of my websites.

I’m not currently using Hostgator but I’ve been happy with them in the past.
