“White Screen of Death” after 2.7 installation
-
Just yesterday I had my first encounter with the “white screen of death” while trying to upload images within the “Write Post” screen…
I’m hosted with Godaddy, and running four installations of WordPress on different folders within the same domain name. Up until yesterday, I only had three versions of 2.6.5 installed, however I installed WordPress 2.7 into a new directory in the morning. About 20 minutes after installing 2.7, all of my 2.6.5 installations give me the “white screen of death” when trying to upload an image.
The images even show “crunching” and everything seems to be working, but when it’s done crunching, it has a blank white “image” where the image should be. If I hit “insert into post” it inserts a similar blank white image. I’ve checked the servers folder for the image that was supposedly uploaded, but nothing is there.
The weird part is, the version of 2.7 works fine, and I’m able to upload images perfectly. This makes me wonder if having different versions of WordPress installed on the same domain is causing this issue. I’ve searched for solutions to this issue on these forums, but none of them have worked for me.
I plan on updating one of the 2.6.5 installations today to see if that fixes it for that specific domain. If not, then I’m at a complete loss.
In the meantime, I’m completely stuck and have no efficient way of uploading images to my posts in the 2.6.5 installations.
Does anybody have any ideas?
Thanks!
