• Hello,

I run a personal website that includes a wordpress blog. The wordpress blog is hosted on a different database than the front page, which is a drupal site. Apparently, drupal had an issue with malware being able to infect some sites with a “white screen of death” which essentially renders the site unusable–all the pages infected show up as a blank, white screen.

It appears that my wordpress site has been infected. I have tried several tactics to try to eliminate the infection, to no avail. At this point, I am asking two questions:

    1. does anyone have advice about another way I might go about fixing this problem?
    2. I have pretty much resigned to the fact that I am going to have to wipe the whole database and start over. Is it possible WITHOUT using the front-end UI to save my posts? I pulled the whole site onto my local machine–are the posts in the files somewhere? Or are they all gone?

    Thanks,
    Robert

  • just want to say, every posts and mostly wordpress configuration stored inside database.

i don’t know if wordpress could be exported from corrupted database (if it already corrupted).

    Hi,

Are you sure it is a malware infection? First of all I would get your site scanned by Sucuri; https://sucuri.net.

Also refer to the following document; https://codex.www.ads-software.com/FAQ_My_site_was_hacked

As regards the posts, all posts of WordPress are saved in the MySQL database. The WordPress files include only the core WordPress files, plugins, themes and media files (pictures etc). All other content is stored in the MySQL database.

Hope the above helps. Do not hesitate to get in touch if you need further assistance.
