White Screen on Gutenberg

    My site white screened in Gutenberg after updating, but for admins only, and had this message:

    > The editor has encountered an unexpected error.

    if I deactivate the plugin, Gutenberg works.

    This was fine yesterday and the site updated overnight automatically.

    FYI I rolled back to 8.3.0 and edited the version to be 8.3.1 so I don’t get auto updates.

    Looks like it’s directly related to some of my custom post types, which is super fun. Two of the three fail. They’re all incredibly similar but honestly I’m a little confused why on earth this plugin wants to muck with the post editor in the first place.

    Seconding this. It causes the error on my custom post types and prevents any editing. I disabled this plugin so I can edit.

    Until this is patched I guess I’ll use a different GA plugin.

    I feel a little better it’s not JUST me ?? I can’t figure out why one of my CPTs works and two others don’t, but … It looks like there’s ‘new’ code to allow for premium users to exclude tracking:

    > New: With our new Exclude from Tracking Feature admins can now exclude any page or post from tracking.

    The GOOD news is it’s fixed!

    8.3.2: JANUARY 25, 2022

    Fixed: We fixed the fatal error that occurred due to a generic class name conflict.
    Fixed: Fixed errors some users were having with our Exclude from Tracking feature.

    The frustrating news is … having a non-functional checkbox that tells me to update for a feature is really annoying, since I can’t remove that meta box from my sidebar. So yaaaay advertisement spam.

    Honestly y’all, I get where you’re going with this, but really? Just think if EVERY single plugin did this. Now I have a junk sidebar filled with stuff I may never need or use. Do you really have to?

    Thanks for reporting these issues to us.

    The good news is that we’ve released 8.3.2 and that should fix the custom post type issues you described.

    For this and the new Exclude from Tracking feature, I’m sorry for any frustration from these. We really appreciate hearing your feedback and please know that I’ve already passed this along to our team.

    Yep, fixes the white screen ?? Thank you for being so quick to solve it, it’s very much appreciated (turning off the plugin to update a post was getting old).
