The following post has reference: https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/child-theme-requires-use-of-older-import/

When creating a child theme of Enigma-Parallax v1.4 using Child Theme Configurator version 2.2.4.1 the following warning message is displayed:

    * This theme loads the parent theme’s style.css file outside the wp_styles queue.
    * This is common with older themes but requires the use of @import, which is no longer recommended. You can try to resolve this using the “Repair header template” option (see step 6, “Additional handling options”, below).

Before the Enigma-Parallax v1.4 update, the child theme would be created if the suggested option is selected, when the “Create New Child Theme” button was clicked.

But after installing the v1.4 update a child theme cannot be created using the suggested option – the screen just goes blank/white.

First, a white screen indicates a fatal error. If you enable debug mode in your wp-config.php file, you should be able to identify the cause.

Second, I was able to create a child theme using enigma-parallax but it did reveal a couple of bugs in the process. I used the “repair header” option but had to submit the form twice to get the child them to configure correctly.

I will look into this for the next release, as there appears to have been some regression issues in the less-used features.

Lastly, this theme is using outdated stylesheet handling ( it is not using wp_enqueue_style for the primary stylesheet ). CTC is designed to handle these cases (although apparently with some bugs) but you might consider using a more up-to-date theme.

    Thanks. I changed themes.
