• Hi,

Yesterday I made my first website with wordpress. I have my own server provider who offer an option to install wordpress software there. I did that. I bought a theme from Envato. I installed it and downloaded all relevant plugins.

I was working on the temporary domain and after I finished personalizing the theme, I changed this domain to the one I need.

Yesterday I’have finished my work on changing domain address. Now the website works under that domain. But it doesn’t work properly. Also some problems on the cockpit started to occur.

When I am trying to edit pages, portfolio or posts, using visual composer – everything turns white (the whole cockpit vanishes). when I am trying to make Quick Edit of any pages everything vanishes when I click “update”.

On the website itself, when I am trying to navigate and click on any page – it turns white as well. Only when I refresh the page it continues to work.

    My actions so far:
    – I deactivated all plugins, but problem with “quick edit” remained, also with navigation on the pages on the website.

I was thinking of switching to classic/standard theme by wordpress but I am afraid that I will loose all the changes I made in my current theme.

I am asking for help with this issue (off course)

It’s safe to switch themes, and a necessary troubleshooting step for things like this.

Try deactivating all plugins, including Visual Composer. If that resolves the issue, reactivate each one individually until you find the cause.

If that does not resolve the issue, try switching to the Twenty Fifteen theme to rule-out a theme-specific issue (theme functions can interfere like plugins).

    Hi there,

Thank you for the response. The problem with the navigation on the website has solved itself. I mean that it works fine now, but it happened before I started to fix it.

Referring to the issues with the cockpit. I tried switching off every plugin. And also switching to the default theme. But it didn’t solve the problem. I also uninstalled visual composer and installed previous version (I saw on certain forum that my theme “bridge” might have conflicts with the most recent version of VC). It didn’t work out either. So I switched back to the newest VC and my theme. But I experience new problems now. They look like follow:

I have two web domains. I tried to link my website to the other one. Then I realised that almost all elements of VC disappeared. I cannot create new elements and I cannot modify any existing ones.

Honestly, I’m changing any option I find in cockpit and I do not know what it does, and then check if it solved the issue. So far no positive results.

Is it possible that my server provider might cause all this mess? It is possible but how can you explain that it worked perfectly yesterday. The problems started to happen after I linked my website to another domain.

    Any thoughts?

Ok, so it sounds like the problems are mostly with Visual Composer.

As that is a commercial plugin, we ask that you please go to their official support channel. In order to be good stewards of the WordPress community, and encourage innovation and progress, we feel it’s important to direct people to those official locations.

Forum volunteers are also not given access to commercial products, so they would not know why your commercial plugin is not working properly. This is one other reason why volunteers forward you to the commercial product’s vendors. The vendors are responsible for supporting their commercial product.
