Hi omarreiss,
I have tried to rename, rewrite then finaly delete the wordpress seo folder, but it has not solved the problem.
I updated not only this seo plugin but also (in the same time):
-assetsminify
-black studio tnymice
-google analytics for wp
-ninja forms
-portfolio galery
-shortpixel image optimizer
-wordfence
-wordpress easy paypal
-wp spamshieldI have white screen, and I cannot access to admin.
Are you sure it caused by SEO pluggin? Thanks, your must have posted this the same time as me ?? Thank you for the quick support!
One more thing.. have you any instructions where to get version 2.2.1 and how to install via FTP? I’ve never had to do this before so I’m afraid to delete something that I shouldn’t….KKerstin: I updated my previous post with the link.
Hi catseo
White screen is definitely caused by SEO plugin. I only updated that one. Also, I just renamed the folder via FTP and my site is showing again.
KerstinThanks John. Sound!
catseo: as far as I’m concerned, the correct order for reverting back was:
1. rename to whatever the latest folder of SEO that causes the issue (version 2.3)
2. upload by FTP the previous version 2.2.1 – to be found here:
https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/wordpress-seo/developers/3. delete the folder you previously renamed to whatever
4. if this works, just de-activate and re-activate the plugin again to be sure your settings are taken into account.
I’m getting the same issue
This is in the log
PHP Fatal error: Call to a member function get() on a non-object in /wp/www/cluster/mysite/wp-includes/query.php on line 28
For more advanced users experiencing this issue:
Here’s an article that can help you get a stacktrace: https://www.barrykooij.com/white-screen-wordpress/
We understand there is an issue with wp_query, but we are unsure what’s causing it. For that we need to see from where wp_query was called.
I don’t think this will help the developers to sort things out if everybody just posts “me too” messages…
Just revert to previous version and wait for next update.
Does this help?

After I had deleted the wp seo folder I had the same issue.
As I mentioned I updated it with other plugins in the same time.
So I have decided to rename the updated plugins one by one.It was a plugin clonflict in my side!
I have renamed the “SHORT PIXEL IMAGE OPTIMIZER’
and my website is working now!So it was not enough to delete WP SEO plugin, I had to rename another too.
But lost all seo setting. ??
Thanks lehrer79. All that tells me is that you have quite a lot of notices that are unrelated to this update, except for one:
“Fatal error: Call to a member function get() on a non-object in blog/wp-includes/query.php on line 28”
which is the error we’ve been talking about. What I would like to have is a callstack/backtrace/stacktrace which tells me which code was executed before the error was raised so I can locate the origin of the issue in the code. From there I’d have something to work with.
If you are able, could you include this snippet of code in your wp-config.php and see if you could raise the error again? https://gist.github.com/jrfnl/5925642
@catseo If you re-install wordpress-seo, you should have your settings back. You could try again to install the latest version. If that doesn’t work, you can install 2.2.1, which is the previous version.
Hello,
I added that snippet before I copied the errors before in this forum, I copied the code from https://www.barrykooij.com/white-screen-wordpress.
Is that the same code?
L.
@lehrer79 It’s the same snippet. Let me see if you need to configure anything else.
