I tried updating the plugin & removing the <p> tag but the problem remains.

You have extra content there. Please delete that. Click on Text Editor option and check the div you see in the screenshot and delete it.

I see is from the plugin: Share Buttons by AddToAny you use it.
Just add this to your custom CSS and it’ll fix it:

#popups-cnt .addtoany_content_bottom > div{
display: none;
}

Also the bottom space when you insert only image is fixed in version 1.3
