    Hello,

I’m aware other folks have been through the same dilemma. I think I’ve done most of the suggested fixes I could find online. If anyone out there has another fix/tip/(anything!), please chime in. What I’ve done:

    1. cleared the browser cache
    2. added script define(‘CONCATENATE_SCRIPTS’, false); in the beginning of my wp-config file
    3. verified that there are no colons in any of my URLs under the general settings
    4. updated to latest WP version (note: I had the issue prior to update)
    5. updated theme (note: I had the issue prior to update)
    6. deactivated each plug-in to see if there’s a culprit in one of them
    7. replaced /wp-includes/js/tinymce/ folder with a fresh copy
    8. changed color of .js .tmce-active .wp-editor-area{color:white;} to black
    9. added google libraries plug-in
    10. switched to a different theme temporarily

    All to no avail.

    Theme: Fashionista
    Host: hostgator

Thanks in advance for any and all inputs!

  • The same for me.
    Please help!

did you try to install a previous version of wordpress?

I came back to 4.2 version and it works!!

jm419, please check if you are using any security plugins which is preventing your browser to load wp-includes folder content. Look for the .htaccess file under the wp-includes and wp-content folders.

Strange : it does not work anymore!!

I removed every plugin and it is the same.
I use Graphene theme but same thing with another.

I have no .httacess under wp-includes and wp-content folders.

I have asked to disable/de-activate the plugins, not to remove.

Can you try with re-installing wordpress?

    Sorry, i did not remove, I de-activate! ??

I reinstalled wordpress (not by ftp).
    It still does not work.

The only time it worked was when I installed a previous version (4.2).
But, a couple of minutes later, it did not work again…

Hi Dhruba and idbx. I did what you suggested Dhruba but I’m still having the same issue ?? Thanks for the suggestion though.

So when you reverted to the older version idbx, that fixed it for you? Did the update cause the issue for you or did you experience it before updating?

In my case I tried to update because I was already experiencing the issue. Good to know yours got fixed!

    jm419,

Can you list which plugins you were using?

    Hi Dhruba,

Thanks for your help, I really appreciate.
    My site is sportmontreal.org.

I am ready to pay someone if he is able to fix this issue.

    Thanks!

ok, so the only solution I found is to install an older version of wordpress.

But as soon as I install the last version, it becomes impossible to see the text and to add changes.

Thanks for yur help, hope it will help you jm419.

Hope next version will fix the bug.

I didn’t log-in for a few days because I needed a break from my broken WP editor. Guess what happened when I logged in today! The text was there in black font inside my visual editor along with all the editing buttons!

Thanks for your replies guys! I hope my troubleshooting list up there could also do some good for those who stumble upon the same problem. I’m not sure which one fixed it for me, but surely one of them did.

Dhubra, in case you’re still curious, activated plug-ins are:
    Easy Contact Forms
    Jetpack
    Google Libraries
    Mailchimp
    White Label CMS

I am having the same issue. It happened post installing wordpress 4.2.1 update. Not an issue when I go back to 4.2

I am sure the function was accidentally turned off when I downloaded the WP update.

Here is a link to one of my boards posting pages. https://forum.maxvelocitytactical.com/forums/forum/the-lounge/

Where is that function located in the “dashboard?”

    Any thoughts?

This is bunk! I am having the same issue. The only solution is to let the affected page sit for a day or two and then it starts to work again. This only occurs with one page and not the rest. I can edit others just fine.

Does anybody think this has something to do with the number of revisions a page may have? It seems like WordPress is choking on the content and hundreds of revisions to a page.

Has anybody come up with a solution other than letting it sit idle?
