• I noticed an issue where when a dark background color with white text is set, and the Colors & Background Astra Pro module is activated, editing content using Gutenberg becomes problematic. The sections behind paragraph and other blocks retain a white background, so the text is white on white, and as such not visible.

Deactivating the Colors & Background resolves the issue, if you want to call that a resolution ??

PS. Even with the Colors & Background Astra Pro module deactivated, it’s still an issue with some blocks, like the shortcode block for example.

    Hi @npagazani ,

We did the test on our website, and we aren’t able to see that happening on our side.

Would it possible for you to open a support ticket and share the details where we can have a proper look at your issue and let you know what the cause of the problem is?

    Regards
    Deepak

This was on a local install, so to remove any doubt I did a fresh WordPress install on a server and installed the latest version of the free theme. Not a single plugin is installed on the site – and this issue persists.
To be clear, if I use a box layout, the “boxed” area has a white bg, so the text is not visible at all if it’s white while the bg setting is dark, FE or in the editor. On a full width layout, it works better, but in the editor some blocks still have a white bg making the text not visible – like the shortcode block for example.
In any case, I’ve submitted a ticket per your request.

    Hello @npagazani

Thanks for the update, we shall help resolve this issue soon.

Has this issue been resolved? I am dealing with the same issue. I have white text and a dark grey background on my site, but the Gutenberg editor shows black text with a dark grey background, which makes it almost impossible to use.

    Thanks!

I had a long back and forth email chain with the developers who somehow refused to see this as a bug, so it was never resolved, and I don’t believe they intend to fix it. That’s beyond me – for them to think that changing your entire site’s color scheme to edit content is an acceptable solution, but hey, what do I know!
I ended up changing color schemes anyways, so in the end it was no longer an issue for me.
Too bad really, Astra is a great theme, just sad the developers can’t see this is as an issue.

That is really unfortunate. I like Astra too—I just recently adopted it. If it goes unresolved, I’ll be looking for a different theme. I’m glad I hesitated to buy Pro.

    Hello @npagazani

That’s really unfortunate, please accept our apologies. This is not how we intend to help you out.

Can you share the ticket ID so that I can take a closer look?

Also, @greysonwhy I have responded to your ticket do reach with some requirements as mentioned in the ticket # 314540 to help you out ASAP.

Looking forward to hearing from you!

    @brainstormteam

I love Astra, but it’s 2 months after the last post and this is still an issue – actually, it’s a problem. I don’t want to find another theme… I’ve invested a lot of money in Astra. Please, please tell me you’ve fixed this. What’s that status at this point?

Has anyone out there found a solution or workaround? Thank you.

    Hello @dauntlessadmin

We did fix the issue for the new post of Gutenberg Editor in April around 2 months back –

Gutenberg editor Full Width layout background color not working for new post.

You can find the same mentioned in the Changelog.

If you are still facing any issues, please free to reach out as we would need to take a look at your environment (preferably Staging) and we can help you out accordingly.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

    Regards,
    Suman
