White website with any other theme than the initial theme

your WordPress site is available at a different url:

Basically you installed WordPress in a subdirectory called “WordPress”, and its available there. If you want to make WordPress available under https://www.mutual-understanding.com , you’ll need to read the documentation on sub directory installs: https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Installing_WordPress#In_a_Subdirectory and https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Giving_WordPress_Its_Own_Directory#Using_a_pre-existing_subdirectory_install. The first reference gives background information, and the last reference contains the steps you need to take.

ok, now it got worse..I probably used the wrong index.php..
I can’t change into the old theme either anymore, it gives a syntax error in index.php line 17. where the adjustment was made.

Could I start over somewhere somehow?

OK, I re-uploaded the original index.php and now there are no more errors.
The old theme works, but when I shift to the new theme (pure-simple) all is white again on the front end. On my end(admin) everything looks sharp.
What to adjust to get the theme (or any other theme) working?
Is it in my database somewhere or …?

Hi,
probably something went wrong during your configuration of index.php. You need to:

1. COPY index.php from the directory called “WordPress” to the directory above it.
2. edit the newly copied index.php such that it looks like:
   require( dirname( __FILE__ ) . '/Wordpress/wp-blog-header.php' );
   (note the capital W)
3. Update your permalinks if necessary and try to use your site
