    Hi
    My users want to view the site – they have roles of Author and Editor, but I can’t get the bypass to work for any roles.
    I go to “CMP Basic Setup” and click on the enable “Whitelist/blacklist”. This takes me to the “Advanced Settings Page” where I click on “Bypass”. I add all the user rold to “Bypass User Roles” (Author, Contributor, Subscriber, SEO Manager and SEO Editor” and click on “Save All Changes”. When I go back to “CMP Basic Setup” the “Whitelist/Blacklist” is disabled and “Whole Website” is enabled. If I click on the “Whitelist/Blacklist” again, I go back to the “CMP Advanced Setup” again.

    I can’t figure out how to actually enable the whitelist/blacklist after I’ve put the roles in.

    The work around would be to grant them admin privs, but obviously I don’t want to do that

    The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi, it seems like the saving button is not working for some reason, your process is correct and should work.

    What browser are you using? In the past, there was an issue with saving settings in Internet explorer..but I guess (and hope) that’s not your case.

    I checked in FF, and settings works correctly – https://imgur.com/a/fpsb6DC

    Not really sure what might be wrong at your end.

    I can set up and save the roles – that’s working fine. However, I can’t turn on the Whitelist/Blacklist. When I click on the radio button on the General Settings, it takes me to https://www.sturgesshutchinson.co.uk/wp-admin/admin.php?page=cmp-advanced rather than selecting the radio button.

    The other two buttons (Whole Website and Homepage Only) work fine. The other two buttons have this code
    <label for=”cmp-status-pages-0″ class=””>
    <input type=”radio” name=”cmp-status-pages” id=”cmp-status-pages-0″ value=”0″ checked=”checked”>
    Whole Website </label>
    <label for=”cmp-status-pages-1″ class=”active”>
    <input type=”radio” name=”cmp-status-pages” id=”cmp-status-pages-1″ value=”1″>
    Homepage only </label>

    while the Whitelist/blacklist has an <a href around it

    <div class=”label”>
    <input type=”radio” name=”cmp-status-pages” id=”cmp-status-pages-2″ value=”2″>
    Whitelist/Blacklist </div>

    which is what is taking me to the WHitelist/Blacklist settings page.

    Hello, yes that’s correct. If you set the Bypass roles, they do work for all CMP modes(Whole Website, Homepage only and Whitelist/Blacklist).

    WhiteList/Blacklist is used to whitelist of blacklist specific pages only, which you can set under CMP Advanced – CMP Page Whitelist and Blacklist Settings.

    Hope this clarifies it.

    So your saying that if I have:
    CMP enabled on General Settings page
    Whole Website selected on General Settings page
    CMP Page Whitelist and Blacklist disabled on “Advanced settings/Whitelist/Blacklist”
    user roles set in “Bypass User Roles” on “Advanced settings/Bypass”
    then a user with one of these roles should be able to see the whole site

    I’ve also tried setting “Page Whitelist” and that then allows anyone to see all the pages – equivalent to CMP disabled

    I’m sorry – I still don’t see what I’m doing wrong

    Ah, weird

    Just been through the whole thing again, this time only enabling the user role of “Editor” to bypass the CMP landing page and it is now working

    Odd

    Oh great, maybe it’s a bit overcomplicated. Anyway, I am happy you figured it out!
