    Greetings!

The owner of the site (my client) can’t get into his own site. He was able to earlier today, however, now, he cannot.

I know he is being re-directed to his own computer (through a remote support session I can see what he’s doing). He can get in outside his network. So, I know his IP is the problem.

However, I’ve checked the IP block lists (and the black list) and his address is not in there. Additionally, I have whitelisted that address range, yet he still cannot get in.

The .htaccess file appears to be correct.

I have no issues logging in to the site.

What are the next steps to fix the issue?

    Thanks!

    Sincerely,

Check the IP addresses in the following menu:
WP Security >> Dashboard >> Permanent Block List

Does his address appear in that list?
    If so, unblock it.

Good thought, but no joy. He’s not in any of the block lists that I can find. I can, however, confirm that whitelisting is working (added my current IP to the list).

Follow-on question: is IPv6 input accepted? His public IP comes across as an IPv6 address, which is why I’m asking…

Yes the whitelist feature does support ipv6 addresses.

OK – this is solved, needed to enter the IPv6 in the whitelist table as the IPv4 version was not working. I’ll have to figure out how to specify the range to avoid any future lockouts…
