White/pink space above slider

I installed Soliloquy Lite and set up a slider on a static home page. The slider worked but it appeared further down the page than expeccted. Above it appeared a couple of extra lines of space containing a small puce/pink square.
I inspected the elements under the small pink square and found both spaces contained this:
<code></code>I think this is what’s causing the extra line and space, but I don’t know how to get rid of it. Any ideas?
The extra space isn’t definitely isn’t there when there isnt’ a slider on the page.
